The library that rotates the Ethereum Alarm Clock's pool of callers

Frontier EraVerified Source

Historical Significance

Solidity libraries were weeks old and this is a working example of one holding a scheduling policy rather than a maths helper. Etherscan cannot verify it: solc 0.1.x writes its link placeholders in lowercase and Etherscan will not resolve them, so this record is the published form.

Context

Deployed in the Frontier era, when Ethereum had no way to schedule a transaction and a service had to bribe someone to press the button.

Description

ResourcePoolLib is the queueing layer under the Ethereum Alarm Clock. Accounts that want to be paid for executing scheduled calls put up a bond and enter a pool; the pool freezes at a generation boundary, rotates on a fixed delay, and hands each scheduled call to one caller with an overlap window in which anyone may step in if that caller does not show. It links against GroveLib for the ordered index and StringLib for its error text.
