The library holding the Ethereum Alarm Clock's call database and payout accounting

Frontier EraVerified Source

Historical Significance

An eight kilobyte library in October 2015, when most deployed contracts were under two, holding an entire scheduling service as reusable code. Etherscan cannot verify it: solc 0.1.x writes its link placeholders in lowercase and Etherscan will not resolve them, so this record is the published form.

Context

Deployed in the Frontier era, when Ethereum had no way to schedule a transaction and a service had to bribe someone to press the button.

Description

ScheduledCallLib is the core of the Ethereum Alarm Clock. It stores every scheduled call, indexes them by target block so the next one due can be found without scanning, decides who is allowed to execute a call in each window, measures the gas the execution actually used and pays the caller out of the deposit the scheduler left behind. It links against GroveLib for the ordered index, ResourcePoolLib for the caller rotation and AccountingLib for the balances. Deployed in October 2015 by 0xd3cda913deb6f67967b99d67acdfa1712c293601, the account of Piper Merriam, and recovered from pipermerriam/ethereum-alarm-clock.
